Introducing HB Edit
Sharing the things on my ebay watch list that I don't have the space or money for, but wish I did.
I am borderline addicted to ebay.
It is the technological culmination of a childhood spent wandering car boot sales, and an adolescence googling ‘antique shops near me.’
This compulsive collecting of things meant that when I moved into my flat in South East London, it was like I had always lived there; surrounded by memories of past bargains, it really felt like home. And while I love John Lewis (the Mothership) and understand the one-stop-shop appeal, I really believe that finding these one-off pieces that your friends can’t immediately ‘add to cart,’ is a special thing that makes your home feel more personal and unique to you (in a non-gate-keepy kind of way).

I’ve loved filling my home with bric-a-brac, so much so that even now it is filled to the brim, I physically cannot stop myself from opening ebay and scrolling through its pages, dreaming ‘what if’ ...
And so… this newsletter is born. Putting my antiques obsession to good use, I am going to list the items on my ebay watch list, and who knows, maybe someone else might bag a bargain.
If you haven’t got the energy or interest to trawl the internet yourself, this might become your short-cut to some stylish bargains and one-offs that will bring you joy (and you won’t find in John Lewis). And, you’ll be supporting small-businesses, and filling your home in a more sustainable way. I hope you enjoy!
